Potential Estate is a collaborative practice developing different residential scenarios.

A future ‘residential’ is the key issue around which Potential Estate is conceived. This may take place in summer 2009. After an exploratory mission, Belgium, a small suburban entity in Wisconsin, U.S. – founded by their Belgian and Luxemburg ancestors – was identified as a possible ‘residential’ site.

From January 24th till March 8th 2008 Potential Estate takes over Koraalberg Gallery in Antwerp. Focusing on the economy of the residential Potential Estate decided to re-conceptualize the gallery space and re-develop it in view of a Potential Estate scenario. Potential Estate fictionalizes its ambition to become viable and self-sustaining, generating an event-based program with weekly highlights.

Potential Estate operates at Pourbusstraat 5 2000 Antwerpen under the name of Cabinet Wally Hope.

Opening event of Cabinet Wally Hope is The Crying of Potential Estate, a real-time auction performed by Potential Estate in collaboration with Mon Bernaerts, Brick Debois, Joke Debou, Laurent Flamand, Cy Leong, John Pirard, Emma Sidgwick, Angelo Tijssens, François Verlinden, Emeline XXX The auction is developed as a scenario for live television diffusion.

In view of all this we allow camera’s in the space of the auction only on authorization of Potential Estate. In no way can the presence of external visual registration devices obstruct the protocol we have developed for a live television scenario.

If authorized by Potential Estate all visual registrations are free of copyright. In return for this Potential Estate asks an authorized free copy of all registrations for its archives.

Signing this document implies that the third party is authorized to sign and that he/she agrees with the statements. This document does not apply when images taken are diffused on a commercial basis.
